Robbie Amell was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with his sister. Growing up, he played hockey alongside acting. While in high school, he booked a supporting role in Cheaper By The Dozen 2 as one of the eldest Murtaugh kids. He went on to have a guest role on Life With Derek, in which would become a recurring role playing Casey's boyfriend named Max. The Raders look like a normal middle-class American family, with a dad, Paul Rader, his lovely wife Lily, teenagers Henry and Hannah and 8-year-old Tommy.
