DEADLINE.COM: UTA has signed actor and producer Robbie Amell for representation in all areas.
Most recently, Amell produced and was seen starring in the Netflix sci-fi actioner Code 8: Part II, which laid claim to the #1 spot globally for 10 days. Approaching the fourth and final season of his Prime Video series Upload from creator Greg Daniels, he can also be seen in Season 3 of Netflix’s hit series, The Witcher.
Recently, in film, Amell had memorable roles in Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City, as well as the Netflix horror comedy The Babysitter and its sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen. He also played the lovable ex-boyfriend in Amazon’s EXmas, one of the highest-viewed films on the platform during the holiday season.
Born in Toronto, Amell began acting as a child, taking on roles in theatre before his film debut in Cheaper by the Dozen 2 opposite Steve Martin, Hilary Duff, and Eugene Levy. Thereafter, he went on to roles in Nickelodeon’s True Jackson, VP, MTV’s Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous, The CW’s The Tomorrow People, ABC’s Modern Family, Fox’s The X-Files, and Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, among other projects.
As a partner at Collective Pictures, Amell has spearheaded projects including Code 8 and the aforementioned Code 8: Part II. Most recently, Lionsgate purchased Collective Pictures’ romantic dramedy Float, which he produced and stars in opposite Andrea Bang.
Up next, Amell is set to star in the sports comedy Racewalkers, also producing under the Collective Pictures banner. He will continue to be represented by David Eisenberg at Protégé Entertainment, Alex Barnes at Synchrony Artists, and Felker Toczek Suddleson.
