There’s less than a month left to wait until Fox Mulder and Dana Scully re-open The X-Files. In case you didn’t have time to re-watch all 202 episodes of the original nine seasons, Fox put together a new 21-minute preview video to get you all caught up and ready for the new episodes. A Combination of interviews, old and new footage, and behind-the-scenes video, the preview promises a healthy mix of mythology and stand-alone monster episodes, action-heavy stunts and effects, and a return to the relationship dynamics fans know and love.
Series creator Chris Carter returns to write and direct three of the episodes, with the other half of the all-new season written and directed by series veterans James Wong, Darin Morgan, and Glen Morgan. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return in their iconic roles as the truth-seeking duo Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. They’ll be joined by a few other returning fan favorites including Mitch Pileggi as Skinner, Annabeth Gish as Agent Monica Reyes, Dean Haglund as The Lone Gunman, and William B. Davis as Mulder’s longtime nemesis, the Cigarette Smoking Man. The new episodes will also feature gues starring appearences from Kumail Nanjiani, Annet Mehendru, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose and Joel McHale.
