You are in the reboot of the anticipated X-Files on Netflix, tell us about your role on the show. How do you interact with Mulder and Scully?
It’s actually not for Netflix. It’s still going to air on Fox, like the original series. I’m not allowed to tell you much other than I play Agent Miller. I’m a new FBI agent and seek help from Agents Mulder and Scully.

How was being part of such iconic show in television? How different is the re-make from the original?
It was a very surreal experience. My first scene was with David and Gillian (Mulder and Scully). It’s not actually a remake. It picks up the same amount of time after the original ended, on-screen and off.

Do you prefer TV or movies? Where did you have a better experience? And why?
I just like working on interesting projects with good people. I don’t mind if it’s TV or Movies. The ultimate goal would be a big movie franchise, but TV is so strong right now I just want to keep working on projects that I enjoy.

Do you considered yourself a fashion savvy guy?
Nope. I have my friend/stylist Warren Alfie Baker for that.

Who are you favorite designers and brands?
Oh man. Nike? Haha
I really love All Saints.
I also wore a bad-ass Vivienne Westwood suit to The Duff premiere which will always hold a special place in my heart.

What do you usually wear? Describe your style.
Very casual. Jeans and a nice fitting t-shirt.

Do you have any “fashion obsession”? Are you a watch guy, sneaker, or a shoe guy?
I love shoes and watches but I have more jackets than anything else. I love a cool leather jacket.

Do you have any say when choosing your wardrobe in projects you are working on?
Always. If I’m not comfortable wearing it I just won’t wear it, but you also have to trust the people putting together wardrobe and costumes. It’s their job.

Who’s your style icon?
I would never refer to someone as my style icon, but when in doubt, I always prefer classic. George Clooney is a good example.

What’s next for Robbie Amell? Any cool projects coming up?
X Files, a movie I did with Kevin Spacey called Nine Lives and I just wrapped another movie called The Babysitter and I’m starting another movie in a few weeks called Arq. Hopefully something soon after that too!

There’s less than a month left to wait until Fox Mulder and Dana Scully re-open The X-Files. In case you didn’t have time to re-watch all 202 episodes of the original nine seasons, Fox put together a new 21-minute preview video to get you all caught up and ready for the new episodes. A Combination of interviews, old and new footage, and behind-the-scenes video, the preview promises a healthy mix of mythology and stand-alone monster episodes, action-heavy stunts and effects, and a return to the relationship dynamics fans know and love.

Series creator Chris Carter returns to write and direct three of the episodes, with the other half of the all-new season written and directed by series veterans James Wong, Darin Morgan, and Glen Morgan. The X-Files returns with six all-new episodes on January 24th. Get prepped with the 21-minute preview video below.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return in their iconic roles as the truth-seeking duo Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. They’ll be joined by a few other returning fan favorites including Mitch Pileggi as Skinner, Annabeth Gish as Agent Monica Reyes, Dean Haglund as The Lone Gunman, and William B. Davis as Mulder’s longtime nemesis, the Cigarette Smoking Man. The new episodes will also feature gues starring appearences from Kumail Nanjiani, Annet Mehendru, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose and Joel McHale.

The X-Files returns on Sunday, Jan. 24 with a special two-night event. The premiere episode debuts following Sunday’s NFC Championship Game, and continues in its regular slot on Monday, Jan. 25. ere’s the official synopsis.

Here’s the official synopsis.
Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES is a thrilling, six-episode event series from creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI ASST. DIR. WALTER SKINNER, Mulder and Scully’s boss, who walks a fine line between loyalty to these investigators and accountability to his superiors. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.

How’s this for a wild conspiracy theory: Fox’s upcoming X-Files revival doubles as a backdoor pilot for a possible new series starring The Flash‘s Robbie Amell and Six Feet Under‘s Lauren Ambrose.

Crazy, right?! Well, rumor has it the idea to potentially spin off Mills and Einstein, the new alien-hunting FBI agents played by Amell and Ambrose in the forthcoming continuation, was bandied about. But it appears the project has gone the way of the Smoking Man (AKA it’s dead… but could come back to life?).

When I spoke to series creator Chris Carter last month at New York Comic-Con, he didn’t deny that the potential for a new, Amell-and-Ambrose-fronted series was out there. But he didn’t confirm it either. Instead, he noted that the pair’s X-Files contracts do not contain “a series deal beyond” the six-episode revival, adding, “People can speculate, but [their pacts] weren’t negotiated that way.”

Asked if the thought of an Amell/Ambrose X-Files offshoot ever crossed his mind, Carter replied, “Right now I’m focused on doing the show with David [Duchovny] and Gillian [Anderson].”

Speaking of which, the X-Files returns with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 following the NFC Championship Game, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8/7c). In addition to Carter, Anderson and Duchovny, cast members Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis will be on hand for the event series, as will writer-producers Glen Morgan, James Wong and Darin Morgan.
